Once again, I believe the proceeds from this show are going to the members of the Church of the Advocate, who are struggling to keep their doors open. In lieu of the events that caused Double Deuce to cancel shows, it is just that much more important to support this community center for the benefit of North Philly residence and Temple students. Members of the Church of the Advocate are giving the DIY music scene a privilege to perform in this historical land mark. This venue may open up as a constructive solution to the complaints of North Philly residents by removing the chaos of loud music and exuberant fans from their blocks. My imagination, and premonitions of the future, hopes that the Church of the Advocate as a venue could be like the First Unitarian and breath new life into Diamond St.
